Success Story – Nov – Mr. Villareal

Mr. Villarreal came to Spanish Hills Wellness Suites after being treated at the hospital for an infection. On arrival he exhibited declines in strength, ADLs, and functional mobility. Through daily participation with his therapy team, Mr. Villarreal worked very hard to improve his physical function. Over several weeks he gradually made improvements with all his therapy goals and was able to perform all his self-care tasks and walk with a walker with supervision.

Success Story – Oct – Mr. Foti

Mr. Foti came to Spanish Hills Wellness Suites over two years ago, his recent hospitalization caused him to be bed-bound and totally dependent with ADLs and mobility for almost 7 months.
With the support and collaboration between therapy and nursing teams, along with Mr. Foti’s determination and hard work, he was able to improve his strength and establish his previous daily routine.

Success Story – Sept – Ms. Soto

Ms. Soto is a long-term care resident here at Spanish Hills Wellness Suites and is on her way to returning to walking within the community after 5 years being wheelchair-bound. Ms. Soto’s Physical Therapist then reached out to the attending physician as well as our local orthotics supplier. Through much collaboration with our local vendor, the therapy team, and the attending physician, Ms. Soto now has a custom made AFO. She is getting used to walking again with an orthotic and with continued practice, we believe Ms. Soto can return to taking safe outings in the community with family and friends at a modified independent level.

Success Story – June – Ann

Ann was admitted to Spanish Hills a year ago after suffering a stroke that impacted the right side of her body, leaving her unable to control her arm or leg. Unable to safely return home she became a long-term resident at the facility. Consulting with our Physical Therapist she was reevaluated, and a unique plan of care was set up to work towards her most important goal, to walk again.

Success Story – May – George Fischer

George was admitted to Spanish Hills after ongoing complications with Covid. At arrival, he was bed bound and required substantial assistance for all daily tasks and was unable to eat or drink. Motivated to get down to the gym each day and interact with staff and other patients during his therapy sessions allowed him to make consistent progress. After nearly two months of dedication, he is now able to stand and walk independently, manage his selfcare routine, and eat some of his favorite foods again.
